Phase III: Cutover to Production Steps
Conduct a System Check
STEP 1: PHA sends 10 production messages for each MMG being onboarded to the MVPS onboarding environment.
STEP 2: PHA sends an email to email@example.com to notify CDC when the limited production messages are sent.
STEP 3: PHA checks MVPS onboarding dashboard (mvpsonboard.cdc.gov; registration required for access) to see when messages arrive and review any errors or warnings identified in the messages.
STEP 4: NMI Onboarding Specialist reviews the limited production messages and either provides feedback to address any problems identified or sends an invitation to participate in a conference call to discuss the final steps of onboarding.
STEP 5: PHA attends conference call with CDC to discuss the final steps of onboarding and receives specific instructions on how to begin the cutover-to-production process.
Send Year-to-Date Transmissions
STEP 6: PHA sends a year-to-date transmission in the legacy format (through the legacy transmission route) for year(s) that have not been finalized.
STEP 7: PHA ensures that MVPS onboarding service action pair provided by the NMI Onboarding Specialist is configured. PHA sends same year-to-date transmission in the HL7 format to MVPS production environment for year(s) that have not been finalized.
STEP 8: PHA sends an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to notify CDC when the messages are sent.
STEP 9: PHA checks MVPS production dashboard to see when messages arrive and review any errors or warnings identified in the messages.
STEP 10: The NMI Onboarding Specialist reviews the year-to-date messages and either provides feedback to address any problems identified or provides approval to move to the next step of onboarding.
How strictly does CDC review the year-to-date transmission?
CDC reviews the year-to-date transmission for errors, warnings, and other potential systematic issues. CDC also will ensure that all data are received within MVPS.
