Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS)

Binge Drinkers§ – 2013 BRFSS, 21 States

The following tables show the percent of survey respondents who said they binge drink, by industry and by occupation. Binge drinking was defined as averaging five or more drinks for men and four or more drinks for women on any one occasion. We produced these tables using the 2013 BRFSS Industry and Occupation Module data, a non-public dataset. To collect important demographic information for employed adults, the CDC’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) sponsored the BRFSS industry and occupation (I&O) optional module for years 2013–2017. We analyzed the survey responses in SAS 9.3 using the SURVEYFREQ procedure.
