ERGONOMIC INTERVENTIONS IN SHIPYARDS
Hazard: Often process improvements are implemented with little or no documentation as to why and how process was changed. Without such documentation, similar process changes would “start from scratch.”
Solution: If a central location is maintained of problems and their solutions, workers can see if similar ideas have already been implemented (see photo). Pictures of the problem before the intervention and pictures of the solution in place provide good documentation of changes that have occurred within the shipyard processes.
