This issue is devoted largely to describing the role, activities, and the services of NIOSH's Division of Technical Services. The Division of Technical Services is the focal point within NIOSH for providing assistance directly to employers and employees concerning occupational safety and health problems. Under the direction of Dr. Bobby Craft, this Division conducts hazard evaluations in the workplace upon the request of employers and employee representatives; operates a technical information service; provides consultation in engineering, ionizing and nonionizing radiation, medical, and industrial hygiene aspects of occupational safety and health; prepares manuals of good industrial hygiene practice for various industrial operations and processes; and provides other related services.
