Abstract
The goals of this chapter are to provide occupational health and safety professionals with a state-of-the-art understanding of the anatomy and functions of the skin, to describe available methods for measuring and evaluating occupational skin exposures, to present a tiered strategy to skin exposure assessment in the workplace, and to describe options for management and control of skin exposures. Finally, real-world case studies are presented to illustrate the application of some concepts covered in this chapter.
