Routine sampling and measurement techniques are presented in manual form for use in courses for NIOSH technicians. Areas of instruction include general principles in evaluating the industrial environment and sampling strategy. Laboratory course instructions are: 1) gas and vapor sampling; 2) air flow measurements; 3) particulate sampling and 4); noise measurements. In each subject area proper equipment, maintenance, and special hazards are treated.
