Roofer dies after 25 foot fall from a house roof.

On May 1, 1991, a 42 year-old roofer died after falling 25 feet from a house roof. The incident occurred while the victim was preparing to nail a course of shingles on the edge of the roof. NJDOH FACE investigators concluded that, to prevent similar occurrences in the future, the following guidelines should be implemented: 1. A job hazard analysis should be performed by roofing employers and workers before beginning any job. 2. Use appropriate fall protection on all work at heights.
