Abstract
This document has been developed by NIOSH Spokane Research Laboratory in cooperation with trench protective systems rental companies and is designed as a training resource. This lesson is intended to provide an introduction to trench safety and the benefits of using trench protective systems. This document does not replace instructor-led or hands-on instruction from certified safety training personnel or courses specifically designed to cover OSHA and/or WSHA training requirements. The examples and requirements noted in this document are based on the Washington Administrative Code.
