This is the 33rd annual issue of the 'Occupational Safety and Health Directory' compiled and published by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 resulted in the establishment of three major organizations at the federal level -- the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in the Department of Health, Education, and welfare; the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in the Department of Labor; and the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission. Passage of the act also resulted in renewed efforts at the state and local levels toward eliminating on-the-job hazards. This directory lists the names, titles, addresses, and telephone numbers of key personnel in NIOSH, OSHA, and the review commission. Also listed are governor-designated and other state agencies as well as local agencies responsible for worker safety and health.
