Full-scale evaluation of the strength and deformation of grout column supports for mine subsidence abatement.

This evaluates the load supporting characteristics of grout columns used as point supports for mine subsidence abatement. The cone-shaped columns were constructed with sodium silicate and cementitious grout in both wet and dry environments. The scope of work included the testing of seven full-scale grout columns in the Bureau's Mine Roof Simulator (MRS) from which the load-deformation and failure characteristics were determined.
