Electrolytic Oxidation of Sb2s3.

Sb2s3, and other ores, are converted to high-grade sb2o5.Xh2o at 3-5 V, 0.1-1.0 A, and 50 deg. C. The oxide is separated by filtration and converted to sb by roasting in the presence of na2co3 and c. Sb is then converted to sb2o3 by controlled roasting. The product is useful in paints and fire retardents. Multistage flotation separation of the sb2s3 is eliminated in this procedure.
