Abstract
Solid wastes were heated to 500 deg.-675 Deg. C at 1,000-3,000 psig in the presence of gas containing at least 90 mol pct h2 and converted to a ch4-c2h6-containing gas having no condensable oils and tars. The carbonaceous residue also is free of tars and oils.
