Abstract
Polymers of 8-hydroxyquinoline, a polyamine, resorcinol, and formaldehyde are selective adsorbers for the recovery of tungsten from alkaline brines. Thus, 2 g of ethylene diamine-hcho-8- hydroxyquinoline-resorcinol copolymer was stirred 1 h at ph approximately 8.5 With 20 ml of brine containing 70 ppm w. The mixture was filtered, and the w remaining in the filtrate was 7 ppm, corresponding to a 90 pct recovery of w.
