Method of Desorbing Gold from Activated Carbon.
U S Pat 3 920 403 1975 Nov; :
A stripping solution containing 0.4 pct naoh was used at 130 deg-150 deg-C and elevated pressure to strip a sample of activated coconut charcoal industrially loaded with cyanide-lime Au-bearing solution to 560 tr oz Au/ton c. The rate of Au desorption is enhanced, as the c assayed 0.35 oz/ton after 10.5 H of stripping, as compared with 2.0 oz/ton after 65.5 H of conventional stripping.
