Abstract
U.S. Bureau of Mines researchers used a large countercurrent trickle- bed column reactor to obtain data on the chemical and transport processes controlling the leaching of pyrite from coal wastes. Analyses indicated a correlation between hydrocarbon gas desorption and oxygen consumption.
