Hydraulic transport research facility: data analysis report.

The Bureau of Mines' hydraulic transport research facility generated a significant amount of data on the transport of coal in 6- and 12- inch diameter pipes. Five traditional hydrotransport equations were tested by using this data. The results indicated that none of the equations accurately predict head loss for coarse coal over a wide range of transport velocities.
