This Bureau of Mines report presents a map and a concise summary of the mineral industry in each of the countries of the Middle East (Bahrain, Cyprus, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, People's Democratic Republic of Yemen, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen Arab Republic). Reserves, production, mineral trade, the role of minerals domestically and in world supply, and developments in specific mineral industries are reviewed. Base maps for each country show locations of mineral deposits, mineral processing plants, and transportation facilities.
