Abstract
An innovative technique has been demonstrated by the U.S. Bureau of Mines to determine the dielectric properties of ceramic materials at frequencies between 300 mhz and 3 ghz. The overall goal is to measure the dielectric properties of ceramics at temperatures up to 1,000 deg c in this frequency range. These basic data on dielectric properties of ceramic materials will be used to help understand the mechanisms of microwave energy with condensed matter and to enable better control of materials processes such as ceramic sintering.
