Micellar-polymer Flooding Planned for Shallow Sands of El Dorado Field.

On June 28, 1974, the Bureau of Mines announced a cooperative contract with Cities Service Oil Company for a field demonstration of Tertiary oil recovery from the El Dorado, Kansas, Oilfield by micellar-polymer flooding. The purpose of the test is to determine the technical and economic feasibility of Tertiary oil recovery using methods of micellar-polymer flooding. Two distinct micellar- polymer combinations will be tested. Tests should be completed by early 1978. Results will be published by the Bureau of Mines.
