Abstract
Mn2(co)10 catalyzes the homogeneous hydrogenation of 1- and 2- octene. In the presence of carbon monoxide and hydrogen at temperatures up to 235 deg. C, it is also a homogeneous hydroformylation catalyst. Cyclohexene yields the expected product, cyclohexyl-methanol, at 235 deg. C, but at 200 deg. C the major product is cyclohexylmethyl-formate.
