Discussion of "Absolute Stress Measurements At the Rangely Anticline Northwestern Colorado," by R. V. De La Cruz and C. B. Raleigh.
Internat J Rock Mech Min Sci & Geomech Abstracts 1973; 10(9):749-750
The authors of "absolute stress measurements at the rangely anticline, northwestern Colorado," have presented the results of comparative tests of five different methods of measuring the absolute state of stress in rocks in situ. The authors conclude that the Bureau of Mines' three-component borehole deformation gage is the most suitable method of measuring the state of stress in rock. Several statements presented in the paper are clarified in this technical discussion.
