Corrosion of Commercial Alloys in a Chlorine-sulfur Atmosphere At High Temperatures.

The corrosion rates of nickel and selected nickel-, cobalt-, and iron-base commercial alloys in chlorine containing minor amounts of sulfur were measured at temperatures from 350 deg to 650 deg c. The alloys tested were inconel 600, inconel 601, in-793 (exp), incoloy 800; hastelloy n, hastelloy c-276, hastelloy g, haynes 25, multimet; durichlor 51; ASTM nickel 200, and aisi 310, 316, 309, 304, 347, 430, and 410.
