An Economic Evaluation of Pipeline Gas from Coal.
Gas 1972 Aug; 48(8):32-34
An economic evaluation was made of a plant designed to produce 250 million standard cubic feet per day of high-btu gas using Pittsburgh seam coal. A fluidized gasification system followed by shift conversion, purification, and single-stage tube wall methanation was used to produce 927-btu gas. The total capital investment is estimated to be $194,606,200, or 78 cents per daily scf of gas production capacity.
