Abstract
In the presence of d2 (or d2o), co2(co)8 catalyzes the conversion of anthracene, anthraquinone, and 9,10-dihydroanthracene to 9,9,10,10- tetradeutero-9,10-dihydroanthracene. The tetradeutero compound acts as a deuterium source for hydroformylation reaction.
