Soviet coal productivity: clarifying the facts and figures.
Strishkov VV; Markon G; Murphy ZE
Min Eng 1973 May; 25(5):45-49
Although there is considerable literature on the Soviet coal industry, no single source provides an authoritative study of how the U.S.S.R. Coal industry functions and how well it performs its job. Soviet reports are singularly lacking in the precise data in terms that are comprehensible to a westerner. This article attempts to summarize the U.S.S.R. coal data and to clarify some of the data on coal, labor, and productivity.
