The Chlorination of Columbite in a Fluidized-bed Reactor.
Chem Eng Symp Series 1970 66(105):225-228
A fluidized-bed reactor for the continuous chlorination of columbite with elemental chlorine is described. This process uses a bed of fluidized metallurgical coke both as the reactor medium and as the reductant required for the chlorination reaction. The effects of pertinent operating variables on the operation of the chlorinator are discussed.
