Determination of carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, ethane, and propane using a carbon molecular sieve column.

A 2-foot carbon molecular sieve column will separate CO2, H2S, SO2, C2H6, and C3H8 from each other and from the gases H2, O2, N2, CH4, and CO. At 100 degrees C the column is particularly helpful for determining CO2 rapidly in the presence of the other gases listed. The method can be applied to analyzing off-gases from furnaces and kilns.
