Coal science today.
Research/development 1968 Jan; 20(2):28-30
This paper summarizes the topics discussed at the 7th international conference on coal science held in prague, czechoslavakia, June 10- 14, 1968. Twenty countries were represented by 222 official participants. The topics of the five sessions of the conference were as follows: (1) physical structure and properties of coal and coke, (2) chemical constitution of coal, (3) chemical properties and reactions of coal and coke, (4) pyrolysis and coking, and (5) gasification and combustion. The meeting provided much new information, not only to the scientist interested in coal chemistry but also to the technologist concerned with the processing of coal.
