Abstract
The chemical thermodynamic properties of the seven pentadienes are determined from adiabatic calorimetric studies over the range 12 deg to 320 deg k. Properties measured include the heat capacities in the solid and liquid state, heats of fusion, melting points, and purities of the samples. The heats of vaporization of 298.15 Deg k are calculated from vapor pressure data, and the entropies of all seven pentadienes in the ideal gas state at 298.15 Deg k are determined. Free energies of formation and the logarithm of the equilibrium constants of formation at 298.15 Deg k are calculated.
