Reduction-induration applied to iron ore pellets.
Min Eng 1969 Oct; 21(10):21-24
It was observed that unfired iron ore pellets indurated in a bed of anthracite or certain lignite chars frequently acquired exceptional crushing strength. A diagnosis of the phenomenon revealed that sulfur in the fuel was the probable cause. Accordingly, a research program was established to test this premise and to put it to practical use. This article discusses that research.
