Formation of Silicon Carbide from Silica Residues and Carbon.
Am Ceram Soc Bull 58(8):788-789
Recovery of alumina from abundant domestic alumina-bearing resources such as clay, anorthosite, alunite, shale, and dawsonite by leaching is currently undergoing miniplant testing by the Bureau of Mines. As a result of leaching the alumina minerals contained in these resources, a silica-rich residue becomes available.
