Basic Oxygen Furnace Offgas as a Source for Preheating of Scrap.
Proc 36th Ironmaking Conf AIME Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Apr 17-20 1977 1977 Apr; 60:119-125
The feasibility of basic oxygen furnace offgas heat recuperation by preheated scrap was investigated in a quarter-ton furnace. Carbon monoxide was partially combusted by limiting infiltrated air at the hood. Carbon dioxide was about 12 percent near the end of the blow.
