Proc 2D Nat'l Conf & Exh on Technol for Energy Conserv Albuquerque 1978 May; :360-68
The objectives of this Bureau of Mines program were to obtain reliable data on the concentrations of trace, minor, and major elements in the combustible fractions of municipal solid waste (MSW) and to identify principal sources of these elements. Emphasis was placed on elements of corrosion and/or environmental concern. The paper is divided into two sections; the first deals with sampling, analysis, and comparison of typical combustible MSW elemental concentrations to concentrations in coal, and the second correlates several elemental concentrations in combustible MSW to industrial consumption in pigments, inks, plastic additives, and paper additives.
