In situ corrosion tests in Salton Sea geothermal brine environments.
J Met 1978 Mar; 30(3):11-15
Evaluation of the corrosion characteristics of 13 metals and alloys tested and analyses of the scales formed during two 15-day test series provided an initial indication of construction materials that may give good service in the high-salinity, high-temperature geothermal environments. However, the specific effects of general, crevice, and pitting corrosion, stress-corrosion cracking, and scale deposition on the service life of materials will require longer tests.
