Structure Vibrations from Blast Produced Noise.
Proc 18th U S Symp Rock Mech Keystone Colorado 6/22-24/77 Pp1a3- 1--1a3-5 Colorado Schl Mines :5 pages
Blast-produced noise can be a significant problem for the operators of surface mines and quarries. As with groundborne energy, the airblast is an undesirable side product of explosive fragmentation and produces serious potential problems of damage and repeated annoyance to residents near the mine site. As part of a multifaceted research program in blasting, the Bureau of Mines is investigating the response of structures to airblasts, the characteristics of the airblast, and various measurement methods and instrumentation.
