Near Term Results--coal Mine Safety Research.

This progress report highlights some of the significant products from Bureau of Mines coal mine health and safety research that are available for industry use. Research has been conducted in the areas of advancements in mining systems, improved conventional and continuous mining equipment, new conventional mining systems, shortwall mining, single entries, roof and rib control, respirable dust, machinery and electrical hazards, fire control, ventilation and methane gas control, and breathing apparatus.
