Occurrence, Test Data and Evaluation of Clay for Making Structural Clay Products.

This bulletin is the second publication resulting from the joint program begun February 1, 1966, by the Louisiana Geological Survey and the Bureau of Mines. U.S. Department of the Interior, to evaluate the clay resources in Louisiana. Data pertaining to 215 clay samples, collected from 51 parishes, are reported here. These data indicate that 161 samples are suitable for use as the principal component for making structural clay products and for other uses, and 20 are satisfactory for limited commercial use.
