This report assesses the environmental impact of six different process technologies using domestic resources for the recovery of alumina. It also addresses related activities such as the premining and mining of raw materials. The report covers waste source, control measures, potential environmental and health effects, and pertinent legislation applicable to the regulation of mining and processing. In addition, a simulation model was developed that can forecast the impact of locating a process facility in a given geographic area.
