Pittsburgh, PA: U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Mines, OFR 102-79, 1978 Jan; :1-73
This work identifies the various major fertilizers, animal feed phosphates, phosphorus, and byproducts such as fluosilicic acid and uranium, produced from phosphate rock. Phosphate rock produced in Florida, Tennessee, and North Carolina is included in this study. Western rock use was not investigated. Typical capital and operating costs for the major products were developed. The impact of fertilizer costs on the national economy and the continuing problems with world food supply emphasize the importance of production rates and production costs.
