A cao-al2o3-zro2 refractory of high zirconia content may become useful in new pyrometallurgical applications because of the good corrosion-resistant characteristics of the components. No complete phase diagram has been available for this system and information on long-term, high-temperature stability has been lacking for these compositions. In this study, the ternary phase diagram was developed and long-term, high-temperature stability was investigated.
