A Mineral Appraisal of the Areas Traversed by the Kobuk, Killik, Alatna, and John Rivers and the North Fork of the Koyukuk River, Brooks Range, Alaska: A Summary Report.
For Reference Only At Bureau Libraries :23 pages
Sections of the Kobuk, Killik, Alatna, and John Rivers and the North Fork of the Koyukuk River are proposed for designation as Wild and Scenic Rivers. The valleys of these streams form corridors through the Central Brooks Range that cross recognized belts or trends of metallic and related minerals. The streams are in areas that, with limited exceptions, have not been investigated by industry and government utilizing modern mineral exploration technology. Consequently, while mineral trends can be inferred and in parts of the areas roughly defined, it is not possible to estimate relative favorability for finding deposits of the general size and grade mined elsewhere.
