Calculation procedure for heat transfer to a gas-solid suspension from an externally heated tube.
Morgantown, WV: U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Mines, IC 8474, 1970 Aug; :1-29
A calculation procedure was evolved by the Bureau of Mines for determining the heat-transfer characteristics of dilute gas-solid mixture in an externally heated tube. The procedure accounts for differences in gas and particle velocities and covers a range of particle sizes. Heat transfer coefficients obtained by the calculation procedure are compared with values reported in the literature.
