Abstract
Low-temperature adiabatic heat-capacity determinations were made by the Bureau of Mines in the temperature range from 5 to 300 k for the two crystalline modifications of zinc sulfide, sphalerite (b) and wurtzite (a). The entropy at 298.15 K of sphalerite was evaluated as 14.02 +/- 0.04 Cal/deg mole, and that of wurtzite, at 14.06 +/- 0.04 Cal/deg mole.
