For Reference Only At Bureau Libraries :18 pages
The report presents the results of the second year's efforts on the project to develop a geotechniclly oriented geographic information system on the Mississippi and Alabama gulf coastal areas. Landsat thematic mapper data on the project area were acquired at the outset of the grant period. The project area has been classified by type of landcover, based on multispectral band ratios, air photo analysis, and topographic maps of the area. The classification process and the spectral signatures upon which the classification is based are discussed in the report. A soils map of the Mississippi portion of the project area has been digitized and incorporated into the data-base.
