Personal Sampler for Co, No, and NO2 in Air.
NTIS: PB 267 232 Available for Reference At Bureau Libraries :22 pages
The goals of this grant were to develop personal samplers for nitrogen dioxide (NO2), nitric oxide (no), and carbon monoxide (co). The most noteworthy development during the grant was that of an NO2 sampler which is small, inexpensive, and lightweight, and which is suitable for use as a personal sampler to be worn by miners while at work. The sampler utilizes the principle of molecular diffusion for the transfer of the NO2 from the environment to a collecting medium through a well-defined diffusion barrier. The sampler performed satisfactorily both in the laboratory and in the field. Work was begun on samplers for no and CO but no absorbents tested for these gases during the grant period were demonstrated to be adequate.
