Water Circulation System Balance of Central Florida Mining.
NTIS: PB 270 359 Available for Reference At Bureau Libraries :97 pages
This report presents a model of water use and recycle at three active central Florida phosphate mines. Water balances for two mines are constructed for 2 different years to illustrate the effects of seasonal fluctuations and system flexibility. The recirculating water systems of active central Florida mines are utilized to convey and process the ore, to transport and store sand and clay wastes, and to reclaim the water for reuse. This preliminary study highlights the complexity and diversity of mine water systems while explaining the basic concepts required for their analysis.
