The report analyzes and identifies the mineral composition of six samples of rock containing talc as a major or minor constituent. The samples were examined using light optical microscopy, x-ray diffractometry, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy. In addition to talc, the following minerals were identified: nonasbestiform tremolite, antigorite-lizardite, calcite, dolomite, quartz, and (in one sample) a few bundles of fibrous tremolite.
