U.S. Bureau of Mines educational program reaches millions.
U.S. Bureau of Mines
Min World News 1990 Mar; 2(3):
Article describes recent activities by the U.S. Bureau of Mines in the education area, noting that recent showings of Bureau films by the public broadcasting service and the Walt Disney discovery channel have made it possible to reach audiences many times larger than those previously attainable. The Bureau is now looking for ways to work with teachers and educational associations to develop materials that could be useful to them in increasing students' awareness of the importance of minerals. Once developed, these materials would be handed over to the private sector for marketing.
