This report describes operations, and estimated costs, to produce 150,000 metric tons per annum of white metal containing copper, nickel, silver, gold, and platinum metals from two hypothetical open pit mines operating on the Duluth Gabbro. The processing includes mining, crushing, grinding, beneficiation, and smelting. Based on $0.75 Per pound for copper and $2 per pound for nickel, the project would yield an after-tax discounted cash flow in excess of 15 percent. Uses for byproduct sulfuric acid and calcic feldspar are also proposed.
