Magnitude and Quality of Michigan's Coal Reserves.
For Reference Only At Bureau Libraries :33 pages
The subject report is an update on Michigan coal resources-reserves and provides information needed since publication of "coal resources of Michigan" in 1950 (U.S. Geological Survey Circular 77). The major efforts were directed toward production of coal deposit maps and a re-evaluation of the coal reserve base. Data were developed in accordance with procedures necessary for inclusion into the fas data bank. All available exploratory oil and gas well, water well, and coal boring drill logs were reviewed. Drill hole cores and cuttings were examined. A series of county maps showing the extent, depth, relative stratigraphic position and relative thickness of coal deposits, and a glacial overburden thickness map are included.
